Since 1973, The National Print Exhibition has been a prestigious national open call print exhibition presented by the Los Angeles Printmaking Society. The National is a presentation of excellence and achievement in the field of contemporary printmaking.  2022 will mark the 60th year of the organization.

Kenturah Davis, Jurist for the 22nd National Print Exhibition

Juror: Kenturah Davis

An inspiring young artist who creates language-based work between Los Angeles and Ghana. She received an MFA from YALE, several notable awards and residencies, worked at Gemini GEL and currently teaches art at Occidental College. Recently she had a solo show at Jeffrey Deitch NYC. She has been selected to participate in a large scale permanent installation, “Sonder” as part of the new Crenshaw/LAX LA Metro line.

Honorees: Betye and Alison Saar

Los Angeles Printmaking is honoring two influential and empowering LA artists, whose passionate and powerful visions have transformed the history of contemporary art. Using printmaking as a bridge for their dynamic expressions in installation and assemblage, they have provided inspiration for printmaking and opened new territories for art to explore.

For this National, our Juror, our Honorees and our venue host, Mixografia Press, are all notable for their explorations of the possibility and potential of printmaking as a multi-dimensional art form and we hope to encourage artists everywhere to likewise challenge and explore their own creations.
