I thrive on the creative process. Inspiration comes from many sources. I have added elements of collage and non-loom weaving to my printmaking. The beautiful handmade cloth produced by artisans of Indonesia and Japan have had a profound influence on my
art. The meticulous patterning in shibori enticed me to add indigo to my traditional black-and-white palette. Incorporating delicate sashiko-stitching is another way to honor the sophisticated work of artisans of the past while also addressing contemporary themes of conservation, climate change, and politics.
