2023 LAPS Foundation Grants are Now Available

We are happy to announce that the 2023 LAPS Foundation Grants are available to help finance student applicants committed to pursuing their studies in Printmaking.  Scholarships available this year are the First Place Barbara Frankel $1,000 award for one outstanding student and other monetary awards for successfully juried applicants.

Student applications are due Friday, April 28, 2023.

Students need an instructor to sign the application to ensure that the applicant is enrolled in a Printmaking program.  Students need to email or text the application by April 28 to Foundation President Diane McLeod at [email protected].

Saturday, May 6, 2023 is the jurying date. The location of the jurying is kept confidential, as it may be a private residence, until a week before May 6, at which time the students will be informed of the jurying location. Students deliver their portfolios with applications inside to the jurying location on Saturday, May 6, 2023. One student may deliver several portfolios. On the day of jurying, the jurors make their selections of winners and amounts of each award.  The students then pick up their portfolios and are notified within 48 hours of the results.

LAPS Foundation requests a donation of a print from the recipients of the Grants for the Foundation collection.  Arrangements will be made for the winners to receive their checks and to present their respective donation prints.
